An internship in China had never occured to me before. I always had cities in mind such as London, Rome and Barcelona. However, during my search for an internship abroad, I came across the website of 2-Shanghai. Everything that I read about Shanghai sounded very cool, and the service that 2-Shanghai offered was exactly what I was looking for. That’s why I contacted them. Less than a month later everything was already arranged for my Bachelor internship in Shanghai.
The moment I arrived in Shanghai I was picked up from the airport by 2-Shanghai, who then took me to my appartment, which was lovely. I had 5 days before my internship started, which gave me enough time to settle down and explore the city a little bit. What I really liked about my internship in Shanghai is the fact that I got a lot of responsibility and room for my own input. Exactly what you can expect from a Higher Educational internship. The six months of my time in Shanghai went by very fast; there is so much to see, to do and discover!
Without the help of 2-Shanghai, this wouldn’t be possible
When looking back at my internship in Shanghai, I am extremely happy that I choose for Shanghai and 2-Shanghai. It was en experience to remember. Not only have I learned a lot during my internship, I also learned a lot from the Chinese culture and all the things I have experienced there. Shanghai is a city where they live 24/7. Although life in Shanghai is very different compared to home, I have never felt lonely or uncomfortable. 2-Shanghai was always there when I needed them. Besides the service 2-Shanghai offers, they also organize nice dinners and trips which gives you the opportunity to meet other students. It was a great time that I will never forget. Without the help of 2-Shanghai this all woulnd’t be possible.

My time in China can be described as an unforgettable experience. The internship and all the preparatory work was arranged by 2-Shanghai. They did their job very well. During the first weeks I went along with the group of 2-Shanghai. We went out for dinner a lot and explored the city. In addition, we went with the whole group to the Yellow Mountains (famous mountains in china). Eventually we became a close group of students, who helped each other with all kinds of things.
All-in all, it was a great and safe country to work and learn for half a year. It’s an amazing experience which you will carry with you for the rest of your life.
They do their job well and are very professional
The relationship with 2-Shanghai was more a friendship than a working relationship as time progressed. They do their job wel and are very professional. 2-Shanghai helps you with anything and everything. In short: you will never stand alone. When you go to China, just enjoy this great and diverse country, and try to pick up a lot of the Chinese culture and do not only visit the Western restaurants and clubs. My time in Shanghai has been great. So, arrange your internship via 2-Shanghai and go to China, because it’s an adventure you will never forget.

After I graduated, I wanted to go to China very badly. With quite a lot of experience abroad, I actually wanted to arrange my own internship. However, this wasn’t really easy to do. That is how I eventually came in contact with 2-Shanghai. It was an instant hit with the first internship: a job where I could organize events for companies from the Benelux in China who were already establish here.
I’m glad 2-Shanghai arranged my internship
When I arrived at the airport, 2-Shanghai was waiting for me. From that moment on they took me everywhere. I’m glad 2-Shanghai arranged my internship in China because the life here is totally different than in any other country (I have lived in London and Mexico). EVERYTHING is different, and your “gut feeling” won’t get you anywhere. Especially in the beginning, 2-Shanghai can help you with things like finding an accommodation, but also other stuff (of which you would think they are obvious) such as doing groceries, what to eat, how you can get anywhere with a taxi, how and where you can buy phone cards etc.. These aren’t unnecessary things, given that only a few people speak English in Shanghai.
I have had a great time in Shanghai (the New York of this century!!!), after one month of my internship I was offered a fulltime position, so instead of three months I stayed in Shanghai for almost a year. After which I left this country with pain in my heart. The team of 2-Shanghai does the job with so much love and passion and have become personal friends of mine.

From March until July 2008 I was happy to stay in Shanghai for an internship as part of my bachelor assignment. During these five months, I started working at a company that manufactures plastic products in various factories around Shanghai. From the first moment in Shanghai I was really impressed by this amazing metropolis. The first days of being in Shanghai will go by like a roller coaster in which you are being guided by 2-Shanghai. Firt you will park your stuff in your new appartment, explore the neigbourhood and finally enjoy some real Chinese food with a good beer, Tsingtao. Really recommended!
Cooperating with 2-Shanghai is something I can recommend to everyone!
You will meet with other students. And with a little luck you will also enjoy the nightlife of Shanghai on your first day. Very promising! Then it is time to get to know your boss, go to work and sit among the Chinese employees at the production, make the occasional trip to Beijing, the Yellow Mountains or the beaches of Hainan. After a while the taxi driver actually unterstands where you want to go, you know where to find the most amazing spots of Shanghai; the rooftop terrace of Bar Rouge overlooking the Bund, Huangpu River and Pudong Skyline. And before you even know it, you already have to go back to the Netherlands. You return home with a super experience and with great stories; the cooperation with 2-Shanghai is something I can recommend to everyone!

China attracts me for many years, this is partly due to the stories of my grandfather who has been going there since 1960 for his company. And it’s partly because of the prominent media attention for China, like fascinating colums about the culture and impressive graphics showing the booming economical growth in China. However, it was hard to find a good internship in China.
….my expectations of 2-Shanghai were exceeded
Besides this there are many more aspects you will have to deal with, like finding an accommodation, a local contactperson for local orientation and how to deal with the cultural differences, which made the finding of an internship much more complex. Motivated as I was, I went looking for possibilities offered on the internet and found the total solution to my problem: 2-Shanghai Internship Agency. There was the possibility to have my internship at a big Dutch company located in Shanghai, via 2-Shanghai.
Once arrived in Shanghai, my expectations of 2-Shanghai were exceeded by the many activities they organized. Before I knew, I was introduced to fellow trainees and the expat world which made it possible for me to build my own network, which later proved to be indespensable.
Also, the involvement and personal approach of 2-Shanghai for my progress at my placement, as well as my well-being after the internship, was unexpected. This was the foundation of a great time where I learned a lot.
Back in the Netherlands I look back on a time where I have had a busy 24/7 live, but with unknown energy and motivation. A time in which I learned a lot in a country where everything is possible, but not easy. Yes, I would make the choice for China again if I had to. And yes, if only for the wide network you get introduced in, I would again choose for 2-Shanghai.
